Velvet's most fascinating ingredient is the red microalgae Porphyridium cruentum, which has a remarkable ability to protect itself against moisture loss and environmental stress. In cosmetics it is valued above all for its polysaccharides: in Velvet, red microalgae extract is part of a smoothing polysaccharide complex that forms an invisible, flexible and protective network on the skin. It helps even out the surface, softens the look of fine lines and gives the skin an immediately firmer feel. The effect is not only momentary: hyaluronic acid binds moisture, glycerin maintains the moisture balance, and plant oils — blueberry seed, watermelon seed, almond, olive and sunflower — nourish and soften the skin.
